Tiny Shine Jewelry!
Tomorrow around 2pm Eastern Time- I will post these on ETSY!
(Need to create the necklace part for these pendants...)
Goodness I am crazy about them! -
3 hours and the house is changed...
It began with the Boy going to the basement to attack the floor- it needed cleaning. Then he started moving things. Once things were open, he began to assemble huge industrial shelves. As he went downstairs to work- I went to put in some laundry and then went to the kitchen and pulled out the frozen meatballs, set up my crock-pot and added in my jelly and bar-b-q sauce! I turned it on high and got to work.
The worst part of all of this was opening drawers and finding "stuff"- things which get moved from place to place because they do not have a real place to live. I took out all of my dishes from the Hutch and set them up nicely in the kitchen cabinet- (washing the glass shelves too) then I undid the big dinning room table and took it apart! I moved the boy's glass IKEA floor size cases- all three of them! And then I finally cleaned the floor, moved the rug out (temp) and moved in the futon- moved the 1 ton television into place (where it will sit until the boy can run some new cable) and put the floor lamps into place next to the futon.
It looks like a perfect living room- almost! I still have a lot of sorting, and redecorating to do this week. It will be finished soon.
BUT
The bulk of this CRAZY idea was completed in 3 hours! The boy came up- took a shower (He was so sweaty since it is tropical outside! I had to keep all the windows open while we worked) After his shower, he sat on the couch with me- in the new living room and I fixed up a bowl of "ghetto" meatballs! (*This is what they called them on line! I did not make this up...go look for yourself!) I don't care what they are called they are AMAZINGLY Good comfort food. A refreshing can of cold diet sprite to wash it down- and I am off to bed. I will have to get back to cleaning again tomorrow. And of course- photos when I have the energy.
What a night...

One Thing Leads to Another Round of House Chess...

(Photo of tree from a couple of years ago when I first bought it- Note: Paige kitty... *sigh*)
Today- I went to set up the 4 foot Xmas tree not knowing the chaos it would bring...
It went together in two easy parts (thank you Martha Stewart) and I set in on a table in front of the window in the living room. The problem began when the two small chairs seemed to be slightly crowded. I decided it was time to swap the furniture around to accommodate everything more easily. *NO! I Do not know why it seemed to work years ago and not really work this year- as not much has changed- other than...well... ME!
BUT- THIS is NOT simple in my house sadly. It is long and narrow and nothing fits easily. I took the futon and moved it against the bay window and had to clean all the stuff (dirt) which had collected over time from under there... I then began the HUGE task of moving the giant TV (by myself because I believe I can do anything which I can- but to outsiders it might seem otherwise...) This is when Thomas walked in. He helped me move it into place and we sat. Our nose was like 5-6 feet from that damn TV! No room for a coffee table and well EVERYTHING SUCKED! No matter how hard we tried (AND WE TRIED) to rearrange things- everything seem awkward. THEN HE SAID IT...
"I know this is going to sound a little kooky- but..." (HA! Nothing at this point could sound weird- as nothing was working out at all... He finished, "What if we go back to using the dinning room as a living room and DO we REALLY even need a dinning room? How many times since we have had this house have we really used it?" As fast as he said it- I returned with a YES. Yes lets do it. Lets completely change our entire world right now since we are about to completely redo the bathroom in about 2 weeks... UUUGH!!! It actually is a good solution for a constant issue.
So the living room now- will become a sitting room of sorts- a place to display art and to pass through to get to the kitchen or the new living room. The old dinning room will have to be undone- as in- take down the big hutch, find places for those dishes, take apart the table and of course take down the big light which hangs over the table and replace it with something swanky and lounge-y.
Something which goes with the seductive dark red walls and ceiling. Everything in that room now- screams brothel... so putting a comfy-futon couch in there will make for some delightful downtime.
What happens now when I want to host a dinner? Haaa... I can set up something I am sure. I used to entertain in the dinning room when it was once a tv room long ago and it was charming! Candles and finger foods- all with perfect lighting...And so- with the words spoken by the BOY I obliviously do not know- LETS START TONIGHT... Yikes.

NEW Photos soon... -
Week in review

Ahhh... the end of a busy week.
Surprisingly I feel really good and have managed to keep from getting sick- as it seems- lots of people are getting some nasty kind of cold lately. I think my stress level has diminished greatly. Even my face seems to be acting more like an adult- thanks in part to Neutrogena Rapid Clearâ„¢lotion! It helps with my sever dry skin and of course my breakouts. Just saying- if you are having any issues with your skin- give this product a try!I have been working in the studio during the day- watching birds and squirrels and of course sharing my space with my two boys. Virgil is so sweet- and has truly adjusted to living with us. He will play around for about a half hour after coming out with me- then he is snuggling up under a spare light to sleep- OR Hatch as I like to call it! My little egg! He also knows the word for "Studio" and "House" which I will say to him on his way into each location. As for Vespa- he is still very much into grazing! Nom Nom Nom! He loves his grass. What little of it is out there right now- he finds it. He will sit in the window for a long time- watching the birds and if not careful- he will begin to nod off to sleep sitting up...
I returned to my office on Wednesday -rather I was invited! It was the annual Xmas party and I dressed up in heels for the occasion! It was lovely to return with a HUGE welcome no less! I walked into the room and everyone roared my name! It felt so good to be missed! There was so much food too- which I managed to enjoy- mostly the amazing bacon and scrambled eggs! Ahhh! YUM! Then I ventured to the 4th floor to see the bosses and again- walked into an Xmas party to the roar of my name! CRAZY! Hugs and Hello's and yet more food- which I mostly passed on. All except someone's delicious meatballs in a heated crock-pot. THEY were AMAZING! Something about the sauce which I was told was made of (get this) jelly and barbecue sauce! I am going to have to go look that up. I don't care what it sounds like- it was fantastic. I wound up spending the entire day there like It was a typical work day. I came home and was exhausted too. Kind of felt a bit guilty for not being home to work. (I went out later to the studio and put in a few hours to make up for it)
Friday came and I went out to lunch with my Dad as I do each Friday. He told me that he was asked to spend Xmas in Florida AGAIN! Goodness he just got back from being down there to visit my brother and now he is going back?!? I have mixed feelings about this! I mean- he likes to drive and such- but it is a LONG drive and well I just wish they had a bit more sensitivity to him and would come up here or at least maybe pay for a plane ticket ($99) to have him come down. Seriously he is turning 73 this week and I just worry about him. It just seems selfish to keep asking him to do something like this. Uuugh!
So we are going to have those Naughty Kittens for Xmas! Haa! Since Dad is going back down to Florida, we will have them spend the Holiday with us. THIS TIME I am ready for them. I will wear socks more - to protect my feet from attack. I will make sure that important breakable things are put away. And I will be sure to have lots of treats and presents for them! Damn naughty little fur-balls!
Before Dad when home- He helped me put air in my Jeep's tires! Not that I couldn't do something as easy as that- but it is these things which I love most about him. I still love being is daughter and having him help me- saving me from having to do it be myself. It is the princess in me to some extent. Asking for help like this means more than the task at hand. It makes me happy to still Need my Dad... and he gets a kick out of doing things for me still... even though it was F'ing COLD out and it took a while to fill those tired! haaa...

Later Friday night we went to dinner with Jason and Lisa- to House of Kabob again! http://www.houseofkabobmd.com/ Amazing as usual!

This Persain food always puts a smile on my face. (Because it comes to the table with a SMILE! I kid you not- this is what I got! TOO cool!)We then went onto our usual bookstore and then to coffee. Where I tried to get my photo in the RED brackets! Jason and Lisa had to help as I couldn't seem to get it right. Jason's photo worked best...
Saturday Thomas and I slept in a bit followed by lunch and some errands. Later that night we worked in the studio. I finished my Wisdom tooth jewelry and posted it on ETSY.
Sunday I was happy to fall back to my routine of Breakfast at Einsteins. They were brewing their Winter Blend which tasted amazing!
We then went onto look for a new surround for the bathroom remodel which we are planning as a gift to each other for the Holiday. Since we moved into this house in 2000 the main bathroom has not been updated. Sure I have painted and of course we ripped out some of the parts replacing other things- but the Bathtub and surround has been there since the 1970's. Uuugh! And now it is past time to replace it as it seems to be coming apart on its own. I can't express how HAPPY I am about this. I have not had a relaxing bath in my house- ever! It is just awful. So now it the time. The tub is going to be re-enameled to a white (It is Aqua now to match the surround and at one point- it matched the toilet and the sink! YES! Everything was aqua! Uuugh!) The surround will come down and we will have to repair the thick vintage plaster walls and put up a new surround- which I think will be a white and gray faux tiny tile pattern look. A new shower head and faucet in a nickel finish will replace the shitty old ones and then at some point when all this is finished- we hope to have a new tiny vanity put in along with a glass bowl. Since out bathroom is SO TINY (for it being the main bathroom in this house *the other one used to be in the basement-no more) we have to go with SMALL things. It sort of sucks to have to deal with moving around in such a small room. When I say tiny- I mean my knees hit the tub when I sit on the toilet! TINY. Which is fine- whatever. At least it will be clean and redone. Finally if I can find a floor finish I like, we will redo the floor. No tile as it is too much for this small space- so we are looking at something simple. Maybe modern wood or something. And last but not least- I will have to repaint everything and Maybe- I will go ahead and make the ceiling that Silver Leaf- like Jason and I have swooned over for years! )Still just a thought! The rest is cosmetic- like a new mirror, lights, a new cabinet for over the toilet and a new shower curtain, towels and art of some sort... All by the end of January I hope.
Big thoughts for a Sunday night.
Now that I got you up to date on my life- I should get to sleeping!
More later...

I wanted to share these photos- of some wishbones I received from The Porch Swing Poet here on Xanga-
Extraordinary really!
Thank you my dear- I am SHOCKED at the number as well as the variety and I hardly have the nerve to ask how you came about these?
So I shall just smile and think about how I shall pay tribute to these poor fine foul...
