There are so many things I am grateful for at the turn of this New Year.
However I thought I might share a few very simple fun things that make my daily life better!!!
One: I love Comet cleaner!
It is a truly amazing product for cleaning hard to fight stains such as berry stains on my porcelain sink!

I also love this little scrub brush from IKEA!

It is simple and easy to keep around the sink.
I use it for cleaning dishes as well as around the sink.
PLASTIS
Dishwashing brush
$0.99
And so... that's all for tonight.
Tomorrow our contractor will come to give an estimate for the long awaited home repairs!
A second sump pump for the basement since we have had such a wet season and finally a new tub and surround~
Such a perfect Birthday present...
Oh- before I go for the evening. I will post a few photos of my Mary Lou Zeek Gallery submission.

It is a work in progress of course. I have a lot more work to do tomorrow.

2010 One Hundred Artists Show Benefiting:
Marion-Polk Food Share
“Nourish & Sustain”
The Mary Lou Zeek Gallery is continuing its vision of raising awareness and funds for important and impactful causes through this year’s 100 Artist Show. Benefitting the Marion-Polk Food Share, this year’s show will focus on the issues of eradicating hunger in the Willamette valley as well as examining what nourishes and sustains the artist and the human spirit.
Nourish (verb) nour-ish (1) to sustain with food or nutriment; supply with what is necessary for life, health, and growth. (2) to cherish, foster, keep alive, etc. (3) to strengthen, build up, or promote.
Sustain (verb) sus-tain (1) to keep up or keep going as an action or process (2) to provide for by providing means or funds (3) to uphold as valid, just or correct
How the 100 Artists Show works:
The Mary Lou Zeek Gallery will send each artist the starting object “as is” through the mail. In the past, for example, it has been a scratch board, a small box or a used book. This year we will be sending out an empty food can to each artist. Everyone starts exactly the same.
The artist will create a one-of-a-kind piece no larger than 8” x 8”x 8” and send it back to the gallery as a donation piece.
We encourage the artist to keep the stamps and address somewhere on the piece for identification. People who have been collecting from these shows for the last 7 years love to see the name of the artist on the artwork and evidence of the actual mailing.
The artist is responsible for proper hanging hardware if it’s a hanging piece and instructions for placement (up, down, sideways). Please also include the title, materials used, and a short bio with an artist’s statement that we may use in publicity.
All of the 100 pieces will be displayed in the gallery and sold using a silent bidding format, both in the gallery, through the website and over the phone. The profits will be donated to the non-profit organization, Marion-Polk Food Share. The public will bid on their favorite artwork, with beginning bids of $50, and increasing in increments of at least $5 per bid.
Please visit our website at www.zeekgallery.com and click on the link “Past Shows” to view previous works (hint: this show is always in February).
