  • I don't think you're giving bad advice at all.  I think you're giving artist-to-artist advice, which is sure to be a little different than nonartist-to-artist advice--and which is a welcome difference and pertinent to someone who is an artist!

    It will probably be an ongoing struggle for non-traditional people to best determine where and how they fit in and to attain a workable balance of the different factions of their existence.  Of course, pretty much everyone has to deal with their own personal balancing act, but not everyone has art as part of their equation.

    Looking artistic can be very fun and nifty, but is nowhere near as important as care and cultivation of one's inner lanscape.

  • Bugs are fascinating. Still brings back memories of the specimen boxes we made in science class every Fall. I remember walking around with my "kill jar" and listening to the cicadas in the tall grass. They probably don't let kids carry jars full of chemical around anymore!
